The first four years I worked at Baylor Scott and White Health I worked on the Neuroscience unit. In these four years I participated on different 3 different committees that pushed for nursing autonomy, increased patient outcomes and satisfactions. During my time with these comities, my most successful work was to increasing patient knowledge on new medications received at discharge by printing out the most common new medications started on our floor and having the unit put a cubbie in the medication room so nurses would not forget or be inconvenienced in grabbing the educational document and going over these new medications with patients. This intervention was proven effective through follow up questionnaires sent to patient after discharge or via phone calls questionnaire after the patient discharged for the patients that did not fill out the online survey. I worked very closely with case management, MD, therapy and pharmacy to help ensure patients received the care that they required and in a timely matter. During my time on the neuroscience unit I became a preceptor, Unit champion for bedside report, Central lines and omnicell (a medication dispensing equipment). I became a relief charge nurse on the neuroscience unit in April of 2020, due to a charge nurse leaving I charged almost every shift I worked in 2021-2022. I worked as an ICU nurse and primarily spent most of my time in the medical and neuro ICU from June of 2022 - January of 2024. Due to lack of hours available at Baylor, I started working at Aya Healthcare from January 2024 to current during my time there I worked at Norther Arizona Healthcare from January 2024- May 2024 as a ICU flex pool nurse and then took contracts at Banner Del Web in June 2024- current as a PCU nurse.
