  • Diagnose and repair electrical components to include lighting, multiplex, aftermarket accessories, and more on police interceptors, fire engines, and utility vehicles.
  • Perform moderate to complex upfits to include, lighting, custom fabrication, snow removal, handicap accessible accessories, solar power, and more on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment
  • Performs Maintenance, diagnostic and repair work on heavy-duty or light duty vehicles and equipment as well as other fleet vehicles and equipment as needed.
  • Performs emissions, opacity, and Department of Transportation inspections on fleet vehicles and makes necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with state and federal standards.
  • Completes or updates related paperwork such as work orders, vehicle history jackets, and vehicle parts records.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, hydraulic, and hydro systems using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and test devices.
  • Repairs and or fabricates parts, tools, or projects needed to repair vehicles and equipment using MIG welding equipment and oxy/acetylene.
  • Required to work snow shift at irregular times during the winter months and may be required to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as well as responding to emergencies as required.
