Summary

I am an 11th-year high school counselor at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School (MI), where I work with 9th-12th Grade students (alphabetized caseload).

A First-Generation college graduate, who earned my Associate of Arts Degree from Monroe County Community College; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education (Social Studies Major) from Eastern Michigan University; and my Master of Arts Degree in Counseling (School Counseling) also from EMU.

I am passionate about helping to close the access, opportunity, and achievement gaps for historically-excluded students; promoting Career & Technical Education; and helping to guide students through the full length and scope of the college selection process.

As a school counselor, I enjoy professional networking; attending conferences and workshops; taking college courses; collaborating with other educators; and reading the latest education-related materials.

In 2020, I completed all supervision requirements for my Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential. In addition, I also hold a current National Certified Counselor credential (NCC).

Counseling style is a combination of Person-Centered; Cognitive-Behavioral; Solutions-Focused; Motivational Interviewing (MI); and Strengths-Based approaches.
