In addition to RN Circulator duties:

• Ensure all required instruments/supplies/implants are available for all upcoming Ophthalmology cases.
• Be a resource to staff, attendings, and residents. Also, a resource to other departments.
• Ensure a smooth patient flow.
• Ensure new products are approved through Lumere prior to usage.
• Contact sales reps regarding needed products, instrumentation, and implants prior to surgeries.
• Check expiration dates on supplies in the supply room and the ORs.
• Create/maintain/update preference cards.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of sterile environments for surgeries.
• Keep accurate documentation of patient information and surgical procedure.
• Ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Work closely with all team members to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

Newborn care during the first 2 hours of life:

• Provide respiratory support and manage any respiratory issues that may arise.
• Resuscitation of newborn at delivery when necessary.
• Ensure skin to skin contact between mother and newborn.
• Regularly check and record vital signs of newborn.
• Assist with breastfeeding.
• Administer newborn medications.
• Collect lab work as necessary.
• Provide support and education to mother and family regarding newborn care.

• Provide comprehensive care for newborns.
• Monitor and assess infant health, ensuring their well-being and safety.
• Educated parents on all newborn care.

• Make daily assignments to all team members.
• Provide guidance and ensure that all team members adhere to established protocols and standards of care.
• Continuously monitor the vital signs of the mother and the fetal heart rate, assessing for any signs of complications during labor and delivery.
• Assist obstetricians and midwives during childbirth, providing support with positioning, coaching, and administering medications as needed.
• Educate expectant mothers and their families about the birthing process, pain management options, and newborn care.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies during labor, such as complications that may require immediate medical intervention, including cesarean sections or newborn resuscitation.
