Took home #1 Womens points in quad racing for District 38 in 2021

quad racing

I started out on a quad at 3 years old, always riding around and trying out new tricks. As I got older the urge to compete became one of my biggest passions. What started out as a small little thing became a big part of my life. In 2019,  I went out on a camping trip with my dad and some of his friends and ended up meeting my mentor. She mentioned to me and my dad that District 38, was putting on their last race of the year and that it would be a perfect chance to go and tryout to see if racing was really what I wanted to do. Race day came at the end of december and I tried out on my 2002 200 2 stroke Yamaha Blaster. I ended up racing two races that day, the first I finished and even beat some of the bigger CC quads. However, the second race didn't go as planned and I ended up blowing my piston. I was furious, the amount of rage that I had because of something so small told me that this is what I wanted to do. 2021 came around and I started out on one of our other used bikes, the first couple of races I placed 3rd, but that was not good enough for me. After making some decisions, my dad and I decided to buy a brand new bike and it changed the whole game. As the season went on, and I started winning more,  Points started to matter. A couple races before the end of the season, I tallied up my total points and realized I needed to win the last two races of the season in order to win championship. The pressure was on, but I had made it. It took a lot of effort, and a lot of sweat and tears but I had reached my goal and made one of my biggest dreams come true. The following season did not go as planned, my motor blew in my main quad and my backup quad as well. It cost me my season, and I did not know what was next for me. 2022 season was not easy to make up but I tried my best in 2023 to do so, until I got an offer to make yet again one of my biggest dreams come true. As a kid I used to go to the baja races, dreamed about one day being on a quad team or just to be able to race one of the races. In June of 2023 that dream came true, I raced on an all girls team, it was the first time in history of Baja racing this has ever happened. I raced 110 miles of the 500 mile race through the desert in 95 degree heat. I had tears in my eyes as I left my dad and the rest of the team behind as I drove off into the desert. I never thought that dream would've ever came true, but it did and I am so happy and lucky that I was able to experience and be apart of such a great team. We placed 6th out of 12th in the race, the biggest accomplishment of all was even being able to make it to the finish line. These Baja races are known for taking out racers and their equipment, and we proved everyone wrong. The next step for me is to be able to use my riding skills in this job, in any way possible. I want to make a difference, and use my skills while doing so.
