. worked for UW 22 years. Am proficient in collecting specimens from newborns to elderly using venepuncture and capillary methods

. Trained to do wavered testing: rapid strep, urine dipsticks, rapid pregs. Have done rapid RSV, FLUAB, HIV and ICTO tests in the past.

. Am able to do specimen processing: centrifuge, pour over serum and plasma, track to appropriate destination for testing. Can adjust centrifuge for ultracentrifuge specimens, warm, cold and room temp. Pour over urines for chlamydiae/gonorrhea, ureaplasma, ect.. can properly store samples for transport: dry ice, room temp, refrigerated. Hand out stool kits. salivary cortisol. do H.Pylori breath tek tests.

.I take nurse drop offs and enter orders in EPIC. create Hospital outpatient visits. I release orders per test conventions for patient lab draws.

.I do all required training in a timely manner :safety, HIPPA patient confidentiality, specimen handling, identifying racism and how to stop it.

.I use PPE and keep patient areas clean

.Run QC on clinitek, pregs and rstreps.

worked with vet to write protocols on blood collection techniques and acceptable blood volumes that each animal could safely lose. Met with clients who wanted to get drugs on market to discuss what species to use,dosing, and blood draw intervals, processing and shipping schedules. Made charts for the animals scheduled blood draws because they would often start to overlap. For example: first draw 30 min after dose, next 1hr, 2hr 3hr etc., could be up to 12hrs, 24hrs and 72hrs post dose. first group would be low dose, 2nd group higher dose, 3rd group even higher dose etc. Then I would assist with necropsy and tissue harvest. I did R&D to bring new blood draw techniques to the lab and flew to other states to teach other labs my findings.
