Barton introduced the American Red Cross to the United States, which is one of the world's most important disaster relief organizations. Her introduction of the Red Cross helped military families to prepare and cope with challenges that they faced. In modern times, along with disaster relief efforts, the Red Cross has expanded to provide lifesaving blood with their donations and providing training in lifesaving skills.
