While working as a Loss Prevention Agent I have been responsible for detecting and recognizing suspicious and high risk activity that may lead loss for the company in a variety of ways including but not limited to detecting shoplifter behavior, recognizing and reporting conditions that could lead to general liability incidents, reporting customers to management that might pose a high risk for fraudulent cash or check transactions as well as potential underage sales of age restricted products. I have been successful in safely detecting and apprehending hundreds of shoplifters and have been able to recognize shoplifters that pose a significant safety risk to our patrons, employees as well as themselves and take appropriate action to protect our assets without jeopardizing anyone's safety.
During this time I was responsible for the bread shift, grocery floor, closing Lead Clerk and front end Lead Clerk. As a bread clerk I had a strong focus on reducing stales and increasing sales. I was able to keep stales well below acceptable amounts by properly maintaining bread orders, displays and efficiently rotating the bread. While working on grocery floor I helped train employees as well as Lead Clerks on how to effectively merchandise displays, work efficiently, properly rotate product, all while providing excellent customer service. While closing the store as a Lead Clerk I worked with every grocery clerk individually to ensure every display was merchandised, maintained and filled promptly and correctly throughout the day. Additionally, I ensured that the store was ready to be handed over to the freight crew and that they were able to get the best start possible. As a front end Lead Clerk I pride myself with the ability to maintain the front end, bread displays and overall store conditions with a high attention to detail. In addition to the individual responsibilities of these shifts I ensured the entirety of the store was presentable, provided top notch customer service, worked with management to find solutions to various issues as well as trained and coached employees in a variety of positions.
As a sole proprietor I ran a small mechanic shop. I was responsible for billing, generating invoices, inspecting vehicles, advising customers, performing agreed upon work, ensuring custom built products met the requirements of the customer and the conditions they would be operating in.
During this time I was focused on developing new talent with seasoned and new employees. I worked very closely with the Assistant Manager while doing this and as a result we were able to meet and exceed target on a regular basis all while improving overall store conditions. I was responsible for coaching order writers to ensure orders were consistent, overseeing merchandising on the wall and ends to maximize sales and reduce labor while continuing to coach and motivate employees.
After being transferred to day shift I was responsible for running the front end, maintaining store conditions, ordering and merchandising grocery cold displays, ensuring customer satisfaction as well as coaching and training employees in a variety of different positions.
As a Lead Clerk I was responsible for monitoring order sizes, helping merchandise the wall and ends, maintaining a healthy inventory for all grocery products, monitoring and coaching employees in regard to work performance and working directly with the ASM to meet target and minimize overtime. During this time I receive addition training on the AS400, was taught how to motivate personnel, as well as received various Lead Clerk specific trainings.
During this time I was trained on how to build and merchandise displays, use the AS400 to order wall-buy, receive direct trucks in addition to managing inventory, time and personnel.
I worked primarily in the frozen department and was responsible for ordering, throwing and training new employees. During this time I was certified to operate the forklift and electric jacks.
