I began as a pipe layer, working in the ditch and learning the intricate details of compaction, slops, grades, and what it takes to have a line test out. I then became an equipment operator learning all the specifics that are required when backfilling, digging and installing main line, and maneuvering shoring. I was moved into the pipe forman position and have worked at that for the past 6 years. As pipe forman I work with inspectors, land owners, and engineers.

Began working for my grandfather's business, where I learned unique creative way of doing things; such as deep caisson wet wells, tunneling, whole hogging, and how to deal with wet unsuitable unstable ground. I did everything from bidding the job to sending the invoice when completed and all the details in between, including being in the ditch, running the equipment, dealing with the inspectors, land owners, and overseeing the crew.
