  • Receive plastic pellets from the process unit to load into railcars.
  • Coordinate with the control room on which grade we are receiving at the time to ensure we make the railcar with the correct product.
  • LOTO tracks and equipment when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment with proper handling techniques and adherence to safety protocols.

  • We represent both costumer and consumer regarding how much product is being loaded and off-loaded from barges, ships, railway, as well as transfers from one facility to another.
  • After transfers is complete it's out job to gage, temp, water cut, and sample a shore tank or vessel.
  • Once we have all the raw data from the up stream side as well as down stream we run the numbers to ensure what is being shown as 'delivered' or 'received' is accurate.
  • To complete a transfer we plug or findings into the computer and send it off to the coordinator responsible for that job.

  • Off-loaded railcars and trucks into their respective storage tanks.
  • During truck off loading we had to make line ups to the correct tanks depending on what was coming in and log each transfer.
  • Hopper railcars and trucks get pressurized to about 6-12 PSIG with an air hose and a discharge line to off-load the product into the hoppers. Watching trend charts is an big part of this job to make sure the line stayed flowing and the powder didn't plug the line.
  • Working closely with Valero operators and the Logistics coordinator to ensure an optimal off-loading plan.

E&I Project Planner /Electrician

  • My job was as the I&E planner was to search for anything that needed preventative maintenance and coordinate a plant-wide power outage.
  • For the preventative maintenance jobs, I made packets with LOTO red tags, correct PM procedures, and a sign-off to know the job was complete. The job packets were to be given back to me at the end of each day with their signature to ensure job completion and stay on schedule.
  • The most critical job was planning the power outage when testing the UPS battery back-up system because when the power went out, all jobs in the area had to stop.
  • When I finished all of the I&E planning, I moved into pipe modification and replacement jobs.
  • I have worked with SAP, Excel, and an estimator program during this job.

  • I started as a general laborer removing sugar from the ground and equipment. In October of 2015 was promoted to shift foreman.
  • As foreman, my job task was assigning job task, communicating with management, logging daily activity, and training new employees.
  • A co-worker and myself received the employee of the month award due to our dedication before a major audit. This was the only time in my two years there this award was given out.
