Work History

Well Production Test Operator

EOG
05.2014 - 08.2025
  • Started contract pumping with EOG in December of 2013.
  • Job duties included monitoring and maintaining production quotas on oil and gas wells on a small route. I was also responsible for collecting daily numbers to input into our production accounting program.
  • After 6 months I accepted an offered to attend a Lease Operator training program with the prospect of a position within the company.
  • After the company's acquisition of a smaller producer in the area I was moved to a high producing field with the chance to be promoted.
  • I was promoted to lead in the area once I got all the routes mastered and garnered the respect of my manager's and colleagues. My duties included mentoring and training of new hires. I also managed a group of pumpers and back filled for my foreman when he was away.
  • Shortly after, a vacancy opened up to be a production well tech.
  • I was offered the job and accepted. My duties included shooting fluid levels, well optimization, and coordinating with my engineer on potential downhole failures.

Control Room Supervisor

Mosaic Potash
02.2007 - 12.2013
  • Started at Mosaic Potash on the cleanup crew on surface. Duties included cleanup with shovels, wheel barrows, and eventually a skid steer.
  • I was quickly promoted to an operator at the K-mag plant. I learned all three operator stations doing my part in processing, refining, and sizing of minerals that came from underground mining operations.
  • Eventually, I was promoted to the Control Room Operator in charge of all K-mag products from the underground hoist to the warehouse.
  • Duties included managing a team of plant operators safely and efficiently producing fertilizer to meet required tonnage quotas.
  • Shift work and the rising wage gap between the mines and the oil field was my primary reason for departure.
