Actively contributed to murine and human research focused on cardiovascular disease, specifically atherosclerosis. I played a pivotal role in genotyping DNA samples as part of our investigation into the genetic basis of atherosclerosis. My responsibilities included maintaining laboratory day-day management and upkeep, specifically in the form of:
- Conducting thorough reviews of existing literature related to the research topic to understand the current state of knowledge and identify gaps
- Utilizing various laboratory techniques, such as DNA extraction, PCR, genotyping, and tissue culture
- Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise during experiments
