• First four years, I focused on recovery of open-heart surgery patients during evening shifts at Houston Methodist West Hospital.
• After that, I circulated diverse Cath Lab cases for over a decade.
• Additionally, I have taken STEMI call for the last 10 years.
• During my time in the Cath Lab, I served in a leadership role, as chair for the quality and safety committee at Houston Methodist West, for two years.
• Achieved RN three certification in 2021.

Four years in the ICU, as a bedside nurse

The medical college of Ohio is a level one trauma center in Toledo, Ohio. Fresh out of nursing school I worked for one year in a telemetry, hematology/oncology unit where I obtained certification to administer chemo. At that point, I knew I wanted more, that being higher acuity, less volume. I transferred to the SICU, where I worked for the next nine years. Trauma was my love!

We moved to Findlay, Ohio for my then husband‘s job. I took on a part-time position, in addition to my full-time position at the medical college of Ohio (MCO), recovering open heart surgeries, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, also in Findlay, Ohio.
