Summary

For the last three years I have been teaching 6th grade ELA in Wichita, KS for USD 259. During my time there, I have done lunch duty, recess duty, fellowship group, and assistant track coach. I worked with many ESL students and designed lessons which catered to their needs. I also taught intervention classes and worked with the MTSS program. I center my teaching style around a growth mindset and motivating students to improve in all areas of their lives.

  • After substitute teaching for a few months, I accepted my first teaching job with Christa McAuliffe Academy. I have gone through various trainings with them including restorative practices, AI in the classroom, and virtual learning. It is a very supportive building with wonderful staff that have helped me grow as a teacher so much.
  • Developed effective classroom management strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
  • Worked well in a team setting, providing support and guidance.

  • After volunteering for the youth group at my church, they asked me to step in and become their youth pastor. I have served there by creating lessons for students, mentoring, and planning events.
  • This experience allowed me to build lasting relationships with youth and parents/guardians.
