Dynamic music educator with a proven track record at Magnolia Science Academy 2, where I successfully launched multiple band programs and enhanced student engagement through innovative curriculum design. Skilled in performance assessment and ensemble management, I fostered a collaborative environment that propelled students to excel in music festivals and concerts.
Starting in January 2024, I was tasked with completely redesigning the music program. In my first semester of teaching, I founded two beginning high school bands and one beginning middle school band. The following year, in fall 2024, I started the first jazz band and advanced wind band. This year, we are slated to perform three concerts as well as participate in a music festival.
As an educator, I believe in giving opportunities for the students to become the best version of
themselves. The Azusa Conservatory which I have been actively volunteering in for the past 2
years, gives opportunities to students who otherwise would not be able to afford private
lessons. Volunteering for the Azusa Conservatory, I have taught six students privately, most
notably my first student has now continued his music career into college.
As the Trumpet coach for Royal Oak Middle School, once a week I taught a group of 5 students lessons which included warmups, technical skills, and the assigned music. This occupation required detailed lesson planning as the teaching period was only 30 minutes.
As the Brass Tech for Duarte Highschool, I oversaw the brass students. A major accomplishment and milestone would be seeing their progression from the summer to their winter concert, as their musicianship, intonation and sense of blend and balance improved tremendously.
