  • Provide consultation and case review to assist Dr. Susan Cave, a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist, with the review of case files, primarily dealing with sexual assaults of juveniles.
  • Review active court cases, including all relevant documentation, such as police reports, forensic reporting, video interviews of victims and witnesses, medical reports and expert witness reports for the incident.
  • Create a timeline of the incident detailing what transpired and provide a summary of the case file.
  • These reviews are for criminal and civil court cases and are for both prosecutors and defense attorneys.

  • As the Recruiting Officer, I was responsible for coordinating and conducting the background process on candidates for positions within the Police Department.
  • Served as a liaison to both the department’s management and the city’s personnel section in order to initiate recruitments and testing, and process candidates to fill Police Department vacancies.
  • Specific duties included: conducting background interviews; conducting and assigning background investigations to other personnel and reviewing their work; coordinating and scheduling polygraph and psychological exams and other department related testing as necessary; previewing all police hiring files on civilian candidates for assigned recruitments, which includes auditing the files for completeness; analyzing the sensitive and confidential polygraph findings, criminal history checks, information from employers and personal references, and various test results; and writing a summary report.
  • Worked with departmental supervisors regarding their final selections.
  • Designed and implemented the overall recruiting strategy for the Santa Fe Police Department.
  • Sourced and attracted candidates by utilizing job fairs; meeting with recent college and high school graduates; radio and television appearance and social media.
  • Screened and assessed potential candidates for eligibility and suitability to ensure the hiring of the best candidates.
  • Collaborated with Department leadership on a regular basis to proactively identify future hiring needs.
  • Gathered and maintained monthly statistics for all steps in the hiring process from initial screening to on boarding.
  • While assigned to the Patrol Division, performed the full range of general duty police work including: patrols, issuing citations, making arrests, transporting prisoners, crime prevention, serving warrants, investigating motor vehicle accidents, interviewing witnesses, investigating calls involving misdemeanors and felonies
  • Patrolled assigned residential and commercial areas by car or on foot
  • Face-to-face interviews of victims, witnesses and suspects.
  • Prepare reports for court hearings, testify in hearings
  • Guide new officers through the training process as a Field Training Officer (FTO)
  • The FTO evaluates the new officer on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
