Duties And Related Skills: Servicing and repairing weapon systems and equipment across small arms, artillery, and instrument shops. I have experience repairing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and testing optical instruments and their mechanical and electrical components. I am skilled in disassembling and reassembling equipment, and identifying worn or defective parts. Also, performing precise adjustments and alignment, and using specialized measuring and testing tools such as telescopes and azimuth test fixtures, binocular collimator fixture, surface plate, micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges, for adjusting and testing optical instruments and devices. Adheres to safety procedures when operating compressors, hoses, and testing equipment. Tests and analyzes electrical circuit continuity using diagnostic instruments, and inspects, diagnoses, and repairs high-voltage power sources for night vision devices while observing associated safety hazards. I follow technical manuals and modification work orders, adhere to all safety procedures, and test electrical circuits using standard diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation. I have performed overhaul, maintenance, quarterly, annual and biennial services, and repair on a variety of small arms that involve numerous parts and subassemblies. I have experience in disassembling weapons, assemblies, subassemblies and other components. After disassembly, I have examined for defects, mechanical misalignment and malfunctions. I have used hand and power tools such as drills, files, saws, hammers, vises, and precision gauges and measuring instruments such as micrometers, optical comparators, ultrasonic checkers, magnafluxing machines and/or borescopes to determine when parts are worn or damaged beyond acceptable tolerances or in making repairs, modifications and adjustments to small arms according to Army Technical Manuals. I have demonstrated knowledge and use of -10 and -20 manuals needed for the following weapons systems : M17, M16/M4/M4A1, M249, M240/M240B, M2/M2A1, MK19, MK22, M203, M110, M107, M320, M120, M224/225 and associated accessories such as CCOs, PVS14s, and PVS-7s. In addition I have the ability to apply knowledge of optical theory and construction principles in order to test, repair, align, and collimate a variety of complex optical equipment. I have maintained accountability, storage and security of arms while they are kept for repair. I have performed maintenance on weapons within a vault with minimal and no supervision.

Work Days: Monday-Friday but on call 24/7
Duties: Maintaining over four hundred pieces of equipment and a variety of weapons every day. I perform quarterly services almost every day on various weapon systems. Also, repairing weapons coming and going from courses on the ground. I also maintained other pieces of equipment such as one hundred and thirty PVS14s every 180 days. As well as aiming circles, binoculars, searchlights, gunner's quadrants, compasses, periscopes, telescopes, and mounts, surveying sets, and fire direction sets. Inspected optical equipment for serviceability using precision tools; identified aberrations; replaced defective components; and reassembled, aligned, and tested systems for proper operation. Applied approved modifications per Modification Work Orders and performed cleaning and minor repairs on complex optical devices, including range finders, laser systems, and articulated telescopes, following technical manuals for setup and testing procedures.
