General Role and Responsibilities. Plant Operations and Safety. Reporting and Quality Assurance. Planning, Dispatch, and Leadership Technical Expertise.
- Operations Supervisor for Westinghouse W501D combined-cycle turbines, working rotating shifts. My role was to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the 103.5 MW ISO power generation park of the Antonio Nicolas Briceño Barge, in order to achieve operational reliability objectives. Using the project for daily tracking of maintenance activities.
- Using Excel, daily monitoring of parameters was carried out to analyze the behavior of critical parameters such as gasoil fuel consumption, discharge pressures of pumps and differentials of gasoil fuel filters, pressures of air filters at the inlet of the axial compressor and the turbo generator, exhaust gas temperature of the turbine, pressures and temperatures of lubricating oils and air of the axial compressor of the turbo generator, and registration of electrical generator parameters MW, MVAR, MVA, PF, KV, and KA in the turbo generator.
- Ensuring the reliable operation of the San Timoteo Power Plant generation park through the evaluation and monitoring of its operational parameters, and the coordination of daily activities.
- Monitoring and tracking operational parameters using ISO 9000 and process safety management (GSP).
- Complying with safety, health, and environmental (SHA) programs to foster appropriate behavior, and prevent accidents and environmental impacts. Coordinating with other plants and OFIPET on activities related to power generation operations.
- Providing facilities to the maintenance team to comply with preventive and corrective maintenance programs for major and auxiliary equipment through permits for equipment isolation.
- Developing and disseminating reports of activities and events related to the power generation of the San Timoteo Power Plant, through daily information collection from each plant. Ensuring the operational and maintenance conditions of major and auxiliary equipment through continuous monitoring of their operational performance, and verification of work quality.
- Worked for one year in the planning and management unit, supporting the procurement necessary to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the power generation park.
- Worked for 2 months in Load Dispatch, supporting scheduled shutdowns of turbo generators without impacting system demand, and continuously monitoring the energy exchange with the National Electric System (SEN) in coordination with the rest of the local Thermal Generation Plants.
- On several occasions, I held the position of Operations Manager due to my excellent behavior and leadership, increasing supervision from 5 to 30 operators in thermal power plants.
- I also temporarily held the position of Plant Leader due to my performance, training, and commitment to providing high-quality services.
- Developed step-by-step procedures for each of the components that move the Westinghouse W501-D turbines for Energy Experts Now. Developed step-by-step procedures for each of the components that move the General Electric LMS-100, and Caterpillar Titan 130 turbines.
