1 Year and 3 months on rotation, becoming proficient at the various assignments throughout the PTDF.
3 months assigned to Quad D (Reception Housing/Suicide Watch) on dayshift.
Safely facilitating the movement of differently classified inmates in and out of Quad D, oftentimes working with the Medical Unit Deputies to accomplish inmate movement.
Safely conducting strip searches and rehouses out of Quad D to various other housing units, oftentimes rehousing dozens within a small amount of time.
Receiving freshly booked inmates from the booking floor and housing them safely and appropriately.
Facilitating the movement of and conducting pat-down searches of dozens of inmates throughout any given day for court.
Acting as security for various medical staff who are treating and examining large numbers of inmates in Quad D.
Keeping a close eye on inmates who are withdrawing from substances and notifying medical staff of inmates who might need medical attention.
Talking with the Medical Unit Deputies to get an understanding of how movement works for inmates who are receiving dental care.
Working the booking floor on rotation and becoming proficient at the booking process of inmates.
Transporting inmates who need medical attention at VCMC or Hillmont and using the proper verbiage over the radio while transporting.
