Work History

Certified Phlebotomy Technician

South Texas Health Systems, UHS
11.2023 - 10.2024

Outpatient and inpatient care.
Working in a hospital setting helped me gain experience of its vast procedures and functionalities of a well ran hospital system. Here I preformed routine Laboratory Procedures acquiring the needed specimen (Blood, Urine, Breath, Stool) to be taken and analyzed in lab, as per Doctors orders. Having to work in a team environment in an outpatient setting and keep up with standards allowed for an overall positive learning curve and allowed personal growth and time management skills.
Settings of Work, ICU, PCU, Emergency Room, STHS Behavioral Hospital, Rehab, and Pediatrics.
Other Duties & Responsibilities.
-Trusted Trainer for new incoming workers, helping them navigate through both STHS Edinburg and Children's Hospital. Also, trainer for the AM Routine morning lab work as STHS Behavioral Hospital.
- File Keeping/Faxing Documents
-Main front desk operator Outpatient Services for the Laboratory.

Physical Therapy (Observation/Shadowing)

Pure Physical Therapy
11.2024 - 01.2025

In this outpatient fast paced setting I had the opportunity to observe the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistants, and Technicians at work. Much experience was gained by observing and asking questions about this field. I was able to see the planning of patient care by each position in the clinic, as well as interact with everyone. I got to see how the doctor interacted with patients and conducted his evaluations, as well as talk about the evaluations after they were done. Much knowledge was gained as a student, and lifelong connections were built.
Modalities that I got to observe were Red Light Therapy, Soft Tissue Mobilization, Vaso, Electro Stimulation, and Dry Needling.
