General OB/GYN Sonographer with over six and a half years of inpatient and outpatient ultrasound experience with intentions to apply to PA school in May 2024.
Whilst working on my ultrasound career, I also started the journey to receive my Bachelor of Applied Science with a concentration in Radiation and Imaging Sciences through Bellevue College. This degree has prepared me for the advancement of the imaging field in many aspects including business, legal, leadership, and management. This degree has also developed my critical thinking and problem-solving skills within healthcare management, something I haven’t been able practice yet within my current occupation. The BAS program has molded me to become a better healthcare professional for myself and for my patients, and it makes me eager to apply my newfound knowledge and skill to my next endeavors; because I believe more is waiting for me.
In the next few years, I hope to be a Physician Associate, previously referred to as Physician Assistant. My love for the medical field and my patients has inspired me to take my career even further and pursue the world of a licensed clinician where I can treat, diagnose, and prescribe with the flexibility to focus on any specialty. I’m keen to use my past and present experiences and careers to help me succeed in this new one. It’s bittersweet thinking about leaving my current career, but I feel lucky that I can apply my extensive knowledge of ultrasound to the Physician Associate field, where imaging will play a large part in patient diagnosis.
