Cristine Sundquist Fine Art

Originally from St. Louis, MO, Cristine has studied drawing and painting since age 11. Her early education came from private instruction and workshops at Washington University, St. Louis Art Museum, and the University of Kansas. As an adult she moved to rural Kansas and become fascinated with the landscape, particularly the Flint Hills. In Kansas, the sky is half the landscape. This inspired her explore and describe both sky and land in her painting. Her backgound in drawing, painting, and photography inspired her to make it a full time career.

After one year of painting full time she was represented by the 2 premier Kansas art galleries, one in Oklahoma, and in 2021, a top selling gallery in Kansas City. Cristine is a full-time working professional artist and teacher. She is dedicated and disciplined as an artist and professional. She continues to be accepted to competitive shows for her oils and pastels and maintains affiliations with AIS, OPA, and NOAPS.

Cristine's main goal for her painting is to tell the truth. By bringing the feeling and experience of the land to the viewer, it can connect them to another place and time, in turn connecting us to one another.
