Born and raised here in Houston, Texas. Lived in Second Ward almost my entire life. I am of the Hispanic descent, fluent in both Spanish and English. I've worked in my family's small business for many years, interacting with customers, taking in custom orders, feedback, and working outside. Recently graduated from High School and will continue with my education next year. What I apply for may not be close to what I do at my family's business, but I can promise I will try my best to learn the job as quickly and efficiently as possible.
"Curiosidades En Vidrio" is my family's small business. We specialize in putting permanent designs on glass (mugs, shots, wine cups, etc.) among other things by sandblasting. I handled the sandblasting part, which requires setting up a workstation outside and working in the heat & other weather conditions. I've assisted my dad with this since elementary but I took it on by myself somewhere around middle school. I also sometimes helped around in their in-person store and interacted with customers.
Me and my peers from school marched in the MLK Parade downtown on the 16th of January giving out candy and other items to the crowd.
I filled bags with items for Veterans like informational papers, pens, water bottles, etc. Assuming the bags were used for some kind of tour veterans went on.
I handed out cold water for the marathon runners for a few hours with my peers from school.
