Worked in corrections for 15 years (7 yrs nights/8 yrs days). Worked as a guard in the buildings where the inmates resided. In the Intake department as a Sergeant where the inmates were received and released. Transportation department where they were taken to court, medical appointments and other facilities. Also stepped in as acting Lieutenant in transport until the position was filled. During my time in transport Covid-19 happened. Another co worker and I were selected to conduct courts for the inmates via zoom. Running up to three different courts at a time. Lastly in Cell Block, where I worked at the courthouse hand in hand with the United States Marshal Service (USMS). Receiving inmates from different facilities to attend court before their assigned judge in person. Receiving the USMS arrestees and booking them into their system.
