Cynthia Garcia is an award-winning, New York-trained actress, an award-winning Texas-bred playwright, and producer dedicated to crafting stories that inspire heartfelt reactions and resonate with audiences both locally and worldwide. A graduate of the American Musical & Dramatic Academy, and former Actors Equity member, Cynthia’s passion for storytelling is reflected in her diverse body of work, which spans drama, comedy, and thought-provoking narratives. Her first play, The House That Alton Built, was selected for the Frank Silvera Writers' Workshop and later received a reading at the National Black Theatre Festival, directed by the late James Avery (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). Cynthia’s comedy, She Dead Now, had its world premiere at Houston’s Quintero Theater, performing to sold-out audiences. While pursuing her post-baccalaureate degree in Playwriting/Dramaturgy at the University of Houston, Cynthia was mentored by Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright, Lisa D’Amour. The artist remains committed to creating compelling, culturally relevant content that inspires, uplifts, challenges, and transforms.
