In 2019, the golf course I had called home for 10 years, Townsend Ridge Country Club, was a semi private Golf course which mainly focused on tournament play to make our revenue. Due to decreased participation in these tournaments and the lack of revenue generated due to this decrease, we changed to a private golf course in 2020. This ended up being a complete rebrand of the course, Including renaming it to Northern Spy Golf Course. The first two years of this transition I spent as Assistant Golf Professional, and the last two years I have spent as Assistant Superintendent. I am immensely proud of my part in this process. Including but not limited to the retention and addition of countless members, the organization and operation of our many leagues and tournaments we now offer membership while working in Golf Operations. These past 2 years I’ve taken immense pride in the progress I have been apart of while working on the grounds crew to the golf course itself. Thich includes a course wide bunker renovation, the installation of new grass tees with a new practice green and bunker on our driving range, and the overall improved play to the golf course working with a very minimal budget and workforce.
