Damaris Wilhite

I am a Younglife Student Leader for my high school (South Salem High School). This means that I attend leader meetings, workshops, bible study, and club. I organize events and promote student engagement. A big part of being a student leader is inviting your friends at school to weekly bible studies and club! This has enhanced my leadership skills tremendously and has given me a sense of community! I am a student leader because I want to see students come to Christ and have a welcoming relationship with him.

I was apart of Work Crew with Younglife from July 27th - August 19th. During my time at work crew I was in the dining hall. This means that I served food to camper tables, along with that comes, setting tables, and bussing tables. During this time I developed skills of responsibility and boldness. I worked in a team of about 15, so I learned to work with others; doing this I developed problem solving skills and also being friendly and not being afraid to get myself out there.

I was a janitor at my church Relevant Life in the month of August in 2024. During this job I did everything from cleaning toilets to vacuuming. I learned how to exceed expectations and be open to feedback that was given. I was able to operate cleaning equipment while maintaining cleanliness. I reported issues if there was something broken or needing repairing.
