Mr. Bateman serves as the director of enterprise technology at Essentia-Inc. deploying layer one technologies on a national scale to the nation’s largest rail carrier .
Prior, he served as a strategic program manager at Jacobs Engineering focused on developing and implementing theoretical communications technologies within the intelligence community. Portfolio was comprised of 7 programs totaling 5.5 million dollars per year. Largest program consisted of a worldwide managed attribution MPLS network supporting upwards of 8000 direct inward dial telephone numbers accessed by a custom built call center. He is a 25- year veteran of the intelligence community and telecommunications industry. As a member of the managed service program management office, Mr. Bateman was responsible for managing multi-million dollar programs delivering network and VoIP engineering services, operations and maintenance, integrated service delivery, procurement, and business development functions. He is focused on developing strategic approaches to technology applications such as VoIP and managed attribution. Mr. Bateman served as a program manager on Federal Network System’s largest classified program which was funded at a multi-billion dollar level. During this time he focused primarily on the operations of large federal data centers overseeing local and wide area network infrastructure projects from design and development to production, directing project management teams, engineering teams, electrical and communication installation staff, and procurement staff. His responsibilities included defining requirements and planning project lifecycle deployment, acquiring resources for program implementation, creating strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning, and planning and scheduling project deliverables. Mr. Bateman has been a leader in the fields of outside plant construction, network premise cabling, network engineering, VoIP telephony, and general construction. He possesses expert knowledge of all types of network architecture. He has designed, installed, and maintained systems of infrastructure ranging from high pair count copper telephone, coaxial CaTV, Wifi, DAS, and fiber optic cables. His experience extends into the understanding of communication signaling and working telephony, physical placement systems such as conduit and pole line, data center construction, and general construction ranging from structural building, site work, and utility infrastructure. Posses a thorough understanding of network engineering, software development, system administration, and identity management. He has progressed from expert level technician, estimator, construction manager, and project/ program manager, into a successful information technology (IT) Director who is constantly focused on successful program delivery and developing increased business.
