I bring over seven years of relevant experience as a CE 2 in Pierce County Development Engineering. My extensive background ranges from single-family developments to master-planned communities, granting me a comprehensive grasp of the development and permitting processes. I have honed my skills in relevant sections of PC code, PALS+, and conducting timely & detailed reviews. My previous experience in design engineering offers a distinct perspective, enabling me to make sensible decisions and help offer guidance during challenging situations. I excel in a professional engineering setting and adhere to the highest ethical standards. My positive demeanor enhances the workplace and is instrumental in promoting a strong team dynamic. I am excited at the opportunity to contribute to the success of Development Services' objectives as we enter the new year.
As a member of the newly formed Land Use Technical Review team at Pierce County Development Services, I review land use applications and related public infrastructure. My reviews focus on roads, stormwater management, sewer systems, erosion control, and critical areas. Collaborating with various Pierce County departments, I strive to facilitate a smooth review process. Timely, accurate, and professional communication with engineers and developers is essential for success in my position.
As a Civil Project Engineer, I was responsible for approximately 20 projects. Working under a principal and manager, I efficiently produced plans, specifications, calculations, and reports. I drafted all my projects using Civil 3D 2016. I employed various stormwater management programs and Microsoft Office to create stormwater reports. My work included LID projects, sizing infiltration/bio-retention facilities, and designing porous pavements. I also designed detention/treatment facilities and control structures. I conducted peer reviews of in-house projects to ensure quality, reviewed material submittals, and performed field visits for quality control. Additionally, I developed TESC plans, SWPPP reports, managed NPDES permit processes, and obtained a CESCL certification. My collaborative efforts extended to working with geotechnical, structural, fire protection engineers, architects, planners, and the marketing team.
I managed commercial and industrial Civil Engineering projects in Auburn, Sumner, and Seattle. My work involved grading sites using AutoCad Civil3D. I designed storm ponds and analyzed stormwater conveyance/treatment using Stormshed 3G and WWHM. Additionally, I drafted plans, completed SEPA and NPDES permits, and generated Stormwater Site Reports.
As an Engineering Tech III, I specialized in designing roads, retaining walls, stormwater facilities, water/sewer lines, and fish passage culverts. My career began with two summers dedicated to inspection, managing pay tickets, IDR's, and ensuring adherence to the plans. During this period, I completed a flagging course and obtained a Flagger's card. With four years of experience using Civil 3D to produce plans, I exceled in drafting/design and the rapid, efficient creation of plan sets. I played a pivotal role in advancing Lewis County's construction staking process and helped implement the transfer of Civil 3D data to the survey team for GPS control. This job experience greatly enhanced my understanding of the permitting process and the requirements for an environmentally sound design. I am highly skilled in Civil 3D 2015, Storm and Sanitary Analysis 2015, HydroCAD, WWHM 2012, HEC-RAS, and all Microsoft Office programs. While my primary role was in the design office, I occasionally reviewed private projects in the absence of our regular reviewer.
I served as an EIT and project manager, overseeing all aspects of up to 25 projects. My expertise encompasses road design, grading plans, erosion control, stormwater mitigation, as well as water systems and utility extensions for both commercial and residential developments. My stormwater management experience includes authoring drainage reports, performing basin analysis, and designing conveyance, detention, infiltration, and treatment facilities in accordance with the 2005 WSDOE stormwater manual or other relevant codes. I have utilized WWHM V3, Stormshed, and Flowmaster for computational purposes. I am a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL), knowledgeable in DOE’s stormwater regulations and the development of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans. My professional collaborations extend to Lewis, Thurston, Cowlitz, and Grays Harbor Counties, as well as the cities of Chehalis, Centralia, Mossyrock, Rainier, Olympia, and Lacey. I have drafted plans using AutoCad 2002 and conducted site visits to ensure contractors and surveyors deliver quality work.
