Patient Responsibilities:

  • Handling all aspects of checking patients in and out of a busy medical practice where each doctor sees approximately 40-50 patients per day;
  • Ensuring all necessary paperwork is filled out completely so as to avoid delays;
  • Providing assistance and answering patients’ questions when they need medications refilled.
  • Charting:
  • Pulling charts so that medical staff have what is needed for their daily appointments;
  • Checking patients’ history to track skin cancers and/or medication allergies;
  • When medical staff is too busy, documenting what was said and done to a patient. Also document patient questions and follow up with medical staff to ensure questions get answered;
  • Filing and organizing charts, ensuring they are complete and in the right place.

Phone Coverage:

  • Responding to approximately 50 calls per day, including scheduling patient appointments and making sure patients follow up within the appropriate time frames.
