Subsequent to leaving the Marines in 1984 I became a police officer for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Police Department. During this time I received nine hours of college credit from East Carolina University and 30 hours of college credit from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for course. I left UALRPD to take a position as a Pulaski County Corrections Deputy. From there I move to the Little Rock Police Department in 1988. There I served as a patrol officer, street narcotics officer and SWAT officer until I promoted to sergeant. At this rank I was the sergeant in charge of training the SWAT team and leading the entry team itself. I was proofed to Lieutenant in 2003 and began running a patrol watch. In 2008 I was transferred to the Major Crimes Division where I supervised detectives and crime scene personnel. I was transferred to command of the RiverMarket Unit where I also commanded the Riot Squad. In 2016 I took over the homicide unit. In 2021 I took command of the Intelligence Squad along with Vice squad and Gun Crimes Unit. I retired for the Little Rock Police Department on July 1st 2023.
