• Work with patients in their frame selection, discuss lens options in regard to their prescription, frame chosen and visual needs, as well as function requirements and chosen style
• Process eyeglass and contact lens orders, along with claim filing through various vision plan websites or lab direct portals as required

• This position was split between Pre tester and Optician
• I performed pre testing that included Optomap and visual field as needed, taking blood pressure and medical history, current medication lists and visual acuity
• Performed all Optician duties, along with frame board management for assigned brand lines
• Also, conducted contact lens insertion and removal trainings

* Special note-Due to an unforeseen family emergency, I had to leave my position, unexpectedly. This caused an extended gap in my employment lasting through 2020 and COVID restrictions.

• Position encompassed working with patients in frame selection, educating and recommending lens designs and enhancements, fitting, adjusting and maintaining eyewear
• Conducted final inspection and verification of lab completed eyeglass orders
• Also duties included frame board management that required meeting with numerous frame representatives, to select new and replacement styles, and processed returns of discontinued and unsold inventory
• During busy times, assisted with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and collecting patient demographic and vision insurance info by entering into practice computer system.

• Conducted patient examination pre-testing, and assisted customers with their eyewear selection and contact lens insertion and removal training
• Demonstrated high level of customer care through frame adjustments, repairs, and eyewear troubleshooting.

In this Ophthalmology and Optometry practice, I performed all duties of the Optician, frame board management, and patient services and care

• Shared final inspection and verification of lab finished eye wear, with the other Opticians
• Answered Optical phone calls, checked patient vision benefit eligibility and filed Optical eye wear claims to VSP, and Eyemed.
