A newly created pilot program at Scripps Memorial Hospital, the goal of the Patient Service Representative was to assist the hospital's Case Managers through electronically created tasks (using EPIC and ECIN):
As one of two assistants to the Assistant Director of Transitional and Permanent Housing, I was assigned approximately 40 homeless clients that I contacted and determined eligibility for the permanent supportive housing project that was being constructed in San Diego. With approximately 35 eligible, I began the application in-take process with each. I would, along with my supervisor, meet weekly or bi-weekly, with them individually in San Diego and stay in constant contact with them, supporting and helping them to complete the process. In August 2019, within my caseload, 35 homeless San Diego residents were permanently housed in the brand-new apartments that had been constructed specifically for the project.
