Daniel Cameron

I started my time at Gadsden City filling a long-term leave for a year teaching 10th grade Literature. I was then hired and taught 9th grade World History for around 8 years. I was offered a 12th grade AP Government position around five years ago and have been teaching that since.

During my time here I have been lead teacher for our 21st Century after-school program (I ran it at Litchfield), SGA sponsor, Interact Club sponsor, and nominated several times for teacher of the year. Last year - 2025 - I was awarded Most Impactful Teacher and was nominated for the Excellence in Education Award.

I was also one of two people chosen by Mr. Blackwell to start and coach our flag football program which - I would say but there is definitely some bias here - was fantastic and made the playoffs every season even if we did get knocked out in the first round. Most notably I have done a lot of broadcast work. I helmed our "Titan Tailgate with Mikey and D.C." for several years and did sideline reporting and booth work every Friday night on the air with Stephen Fraser, Robert Ray, and Mikey Nelson.

I was just hired in to run the Gadsden City High School website during the summer where I worked with Kevin Young on running the site. I was also hired into the school as a paraprofessional with the main intent of running the website (and to get my foot in the door for a teaching position)

After about two weeks of working on the site, Jeff Colegrove called Mr. Young and asked if he knew any computer teachers they could hire in as soon as possible. I started at Etowah the next week. I taught a computer class and ran a mild form of IT throughout the school. Teachers would email me tickets to come by and fix during my planning. All non-tenured teachers will slipped at the end of the year to make room for Drew Knowle's coaching staff.

Started as a cashier in the front lobby and promoted to sales manager after around two years.

Managed accounts for local dealerships like H.M Freeman, Richards Motors, Eagle Auto, etc. as well as individual accounts.

Managed inventory, customer service, etc.
