- Develop grade-level appropriate curriculum and lead classroom instruction in both basic subject areas: World History and American History, as well as advanced subject areas: A.P. World History and A.P. Human Geography.
- Served as 10th grade-level coordinator for students and member of World History, A.P. World History and A.P. Human Geography textbook adoption committees.
- Played a key role in orchestrating the integration of non-Cambridge students in my Advanced Placement classes with Mr. Testa, our Assistant Principal, in 2013.
- Presented benefits of the curriculum for underrepresented students. The goal was to eliminate barriers that at times restrict access to AP for students that have been traditionally underrepresented in these programs.
- The cap on the Cambridge Program is 125 students in the 9th grade, however my classes tend to be 140-160 students.
- Supported a balanced program through the implementation of writing and reading workshops throughout the year to help struggling readers that are in the A.P. classes.
- Increased student reading levels through the implementation of guided reading for World History students; lower quartile students became engaged in comprehension and reading for social studies texts.
