Senior Advocate/President of the UCSB Basic Needs Campus Organization

• Trained over 20 other Basic Needs and Calfresh Peer advisors to become qualified advocates.
• Created multiple virtual trainings for trainees to learn on-site responsibilities, holistic resources around campus and training material to learn about federal programs such as Calfresh.
• Present and active in the interviewing and hiring process for future advocates and interns for the Basic Needs department at UCSB.

Calfresh Student Exemption Expansion Program

• Expanded the list of undergraduate and graduate degrees that qualify as student exemptions for Calfresh in order to increase eligibility across campus
• Worked with UCSB professors and administration to rework the presentation of degree requirements in order to demonstrate the eligibility for a degree to become a student exemption
• Worked with the Department of Social Services of Santa Barbara to approve the newly revised degree requirements.
