  • Started at Tupelo Police Department as a full-time officer on June 29th, 2001where I was assigned to a patrol shift and performed shift duties


  • December 2003 I was selected as a Detective in the Criminal Investigation Division. I worked on cases that involved burglaries, robberies, financial crimes, and homicides. I also prepared and presented cases to the Grand Jury for Indictments. Testified in Circuit Court when it was necessary.


  • In January 2006 I was selected as a K9 handler for the Special Operations Group. During this time I trained and certified annually through NNDDA and USPCA canine certifications. Worked high crime areas and utilized the K9 when needed. Apprehended suspects, recovered evidence, and located narcotics.


  • In 2007 I tried out and was selected as an operator for the SWAT Team where I remained until 2020. As an operator and eventually the Assistant Commander, I participated and led many search warrants and was also involved in many high-profile man hunts and searches. I participated in the SWAT competition and completed my mandatory six-month PT Test as passing. I also completed many SWAT Training classes and SWAT schools.


  • In January 2010 I was selected as a Staff Instructor at the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Center. While at the training center, I became an NRA Firearms Instructor and PT Instructor at the Cooper Institute. I had previously completed my Instructor Development Certification. I conducted training for in-service, other agencies and recruit classes. I was also tasked with keeping the inventory records up to date.


  • In August 2011 I was asked to return to the Criminal Investigation Division where I worked criminal cases, presented those cases to the Grand Jury for Indictments, and testified in Circuit Court when necessary.


  • In May 2014 I was selected and placed on the Street Crimes Unit that was part of the Special Operations Group. The unit worked in high crime areas within the city and assisted patrol when necessary.
  • In 2017 I was selected and promoted to Sergeant for the Special Operations Group including being the direct Supervisor over the K9 Unit.
