With my 2 years of experience in public service, I have strengthened my understanding of laws and policies and their potential to drive positive change within my community. This equipped me with enhanced skills in project management, community engagement, and advocacy. Throughout 2 years of dedicated public service, my passion for youth advocacy and leadership greatly benefited and impacted youth throughout the city of Chicago by leveraging networking abilities, successfully fostering meaningful community connections and empowering peers by creating policy initiatives, providing thought-provoking and meaningful recommendations to several stakeholders on policies that were negatively impacting our youth in Chicago.
I play a key role in the development and execution of outreach strategies designed to engage youth at It Takes a Village of Family Schools. In this capacity, I facilitate the Youth Advisory Council, support youth activities, help organize youth events as well as collaborate with various stakeholders on violence prevention initiatives aimed at creating safer, stronger communities.
Additionally, I contribute to enhancing ITAV's volunteer management system to ensure the effective recruitment, training, and engagement of volunteers.
During my 1.5 years of dedicated service at Mikva Challenge, I have developed a deep passion for student advocacy and leadership. This role has allowed me to apply my skills in networking and community-building, enabling me to forge meaningful connections and empower my peers to take action.
