I'm not afraid of hard work. Since 1983, I have been working full time. ( A few short gaps here and there) From 1984 to 1986, I managed Tower Records, was promotional Coordinator for Chuck E. Cheese's, making hundreds of television appearances and running a free-lance art business on the side. I'm looking for a single business to conclude my working career and I know I'm right for You.
During this time, my responsibilities and loyalties were for the benefit for the estates of my mother and father, my brother and my brother in-law. This included cataloging, photographing and selling of over 6,000 items including 1,100 K-Scale model trains and accessories, antique license plates, furniture, etc. Also shipping all across the country.
Processing customer orders and handling money.
This also included memorizing hundreds of store codes for produce and bulk items.
Operated transit bus through Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties over 49 different routes.
Performed daily pre-trip inspections before every shift and multiple follow-up inspections during each route.
Dealing with hundreds of passengers, giving directions and assisting disabled riders on a daily basis were a basic of the job.
The National Safety Council awarded me a Safe Driver Award each year I was employed.
Maintained and serviced an average of 65 garbage, recycle and organic stops per day. Trained new drivers on routes unfamiliar to them. After a grizzly roll over accident on July 10th, 2010, I suffered multiple injuries. Afterward I was relocated to the office where I worked with customer accounts and edited over 40 hours of redundancies saving the company the cost of an extra driver.
Working with the city of Portland to improve signage and streamlining the Flat bed Department, increased productivity by 50%...I'm proud of that.
All aspects of retail Operations. Training, Payroll, Deposits, Shipping and Receiving, Merchandising , Promotions, Etc.......
Won store of the Year twice and was one of the last 4 stores to close when Tower went out of business in 2006.
Supplied security for performers like Ozzy Osbourne to Tony Orlando and Dawn....Those were fun !
Customer Service focused, Highly organized and prepared
undefinedI am motivated, hard working, creative and need to get up and go to work every day; not just to make a living, but to make a difference.
It's about enjoying life and building something positive. I love being outdoors, and working in my yard and walking my dog Lois.
Cartooning and building my Star Trek collection are really rainy day afternoon projects and it's an opportunity to show my creative side.
Whether it's creating custom nutcrackers ( Star Trek characters, Snake Pliskin, John MacClain, Michael Myers, Teddy Roosevelt for example)
or custom action figures, birthday banners, comic strips....making something that other people enjoy has always been a big part of my life.
