Provide instruction and guidance for students enrolled in the Online Human Services Program under the College of Arts and Sciences. This guidance includes sharing experience as a Master Level Therapist with over twenty years in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy and Crisis Intervention. Enhance students knowledge in Treatment Planning, Case Conceptualization and Networking.
Provided personalized instruction in a variety of classes for incarcerated inmates and individuals assigned to Community Corrections. These classes included Life Skills. Drug and Alcohol, Criminal Thinking and Anger Management. Conducted Pro Bono Treatment for incarcerated Veterans suffering from PTSD and other trauma issues related to their military service and exposure to combat. 85% of all participants in classes were able to graduate.
Developed undergraduate courses in Treatment Planning and Agency and Community Resources. This resulted in the only higher education facility in the area providing in depth course instruction on the development of individual treatment plans for clients. Within the Agency and Community Resources Class students were sent on site visits to gain first hand knowledge on how various agencies operated. This experience frequently led to Internship Opportunities prior to graduation.
Managed two cottages of youth aged 12-18 who were diagnosed with Mental Health Issues and many of whom were in the Criminal Justice System. Achieved an 85% graduation rate. Provided institution instruction in required Child Abuse Training and Certification on the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS). Facilitated family therapy sessions and participated in Foster Care Review Boards and insurance recertification reviews.
