Beach maintenance, beach accesses, marina maintenance, and maintenance of all public buildings are responsibilities of the Public Works Department.
  • Public Works Department retains responsibility for maintaining streets, street signs, right-of-ways, public parking lots and traffic control. Public Works also ensures aesthetic beauty of the Town of Carolina Beach on a daily basis, including weekends, holidays and special events.
  • Supervisor position monitors contract compliance and quality while retaining ultimate responsibility for services, provide collection reliability, community cleanliness and citizen satisfaction.
  • Supervisor position ensures that we, along with the solid waste contractor, remain in compliance with state and federal regulations on disposal of refuse.
  • This position also oversees landscape contractor in mowing of all Town properties including wells, sewer lift stations, operations yard, Town Hall, water plants, ball fields, parks, parking lots, fire station, Boardwalk, lake, ponds and entryway into Carolina Beach.
