My goal is to use my experience teaching in university and secondary school settings to develop a career that allows me to help students at all skill levels prepare to succeed in higher education. My objective is to help students advance their abilities and build self-confidence by connecting them to proper academic resources on campus, working with them on their written and/or oral communication skills, and helping them ultimately succeed in higher education.

  • Fixing the Feeble-Minded: Revisiting the Syracuse State School, 1960s-1980s, Leigh Ann Wheeler, Utilized IRB approved medical files to study the Syracuse State School from the 1960s-1980s.
  • Women’s Clubs of the Greater San Fernando Valley, 1878 to the Present, Melisa C. Galván, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and The University of Pennsylvania/Rutgers University, Utilized archival sources and conducted oral histories (IRB approved) to extend existing literatures to explore the organizing efforts of women’s clubs in the greater San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.
  • Undergraduate Research Assistant, Melisa C. Galván, Helping identify secondary literature pertinent to research themes with her ongoing research project. Helping prep book and article manuscripts for submission and publication.
  • Undergraduate Research, Rick Talbott, Marriage and Authority: A Historical Analysis of Paul of Tarsus’s View on Women in First-Century Mediterranean Society., Utilized primary and secondary sources to examine how Paul of Tarsus, an Apostle of Jesus of Nazareth, argued in 1 Corinthians 7:4 that a woman has authority over her husband’s body. I concluded that Paul’s model for married couples challenged typical kyriarchy (male-rule) in his Christ communities.
