St Louis, MO
09.2002 - Current
  • Currently serving as a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSO) with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for over 21 years, I am certified as a Dual Function Supervisory Officer where I supervise both checkpoint and baggage screening operations.
  • In my 21 years of service as a supervisor, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and promote compliance in TSA's management directives, regulations, security and safety policies.
  • I have been tasked to investigate employee cases and issue discipline to include formal and informal discipline and corrective actions. I have issued Letters of Counseling (LOCs), Letters of Reprimand (LORs), Attendance Leave Restrictions/Instructions, as well as, a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
  • I have knowledge and experience in employee injury and workplace safety (forms 2400 and 2401) reporting in the Safety Information System (SIS), as well as, experience in Limited and Light Duty employee cases.
  • I have received trainings in Conflict/Resolution management (ICMe), Employee Relations, Unionized Environment and Civil Rights and Liberties. With my many years of experience and knowledge in conflict/resolution management, I have been requested by management and my peers, to attend employee meetings to assist with fact-finding and to ensure appropriate resolution is attained. Also, due to my experience in report writing, several of my peers have requested my assistance with the organizing/writing of incident reports to ensure proper, concise and accurate documentation.
  • Since October 5, 2022, I've been presenting information to our newly hired officers as a part of TSA/STL's "Orientation Part 2" training. This training provides new hire officers an opportunity to have a second orientation after experiencing a few months as Phase 1 officer. I provide information on the Airport Information Management (AIM) system, the Electronic Time, Attendance and Scheduling (eTAS) system and the Shift and Annual leave E-BID Tool system.
  • I am recognized by management staff and my peers as one of the airport's points-of-contact (POC) for the eTAS system because of my many years of experience and knowledge in TSA's payroll policy. I am often called to assist with resolving eTAS issues to ensure proper pay period close. I served as a member of the task force that assisted with the initial rollout of the eTAS/Work Force Central (WFC) time clock system in St. Louis and was selected to serve on a detailed position as an eTAS Timekeeper for two years where I assisted with timekeeping for all TSOs, LTSOs, and STSOs in St. Louis and our spoke airports.
  • In May 2023, I was requested by management to organize and conduct eTAS Timekeeper trainings and individual/personalized sessions for my fellow supervisors to enhance and promote "Best Practices" for payroll timekeepers.
  • I routinely volunteer to serve as an interviewer in TSA's structured interviewing process where I assist with conducting fair/non-bias interviews to promote the hiring of qualified Transportation Security Officers (TSOs).
  • I have knowledge and hands-on experience in the staffing requirements for both checkpoint and baggage screening operations due to managing the demands of daily operations and with serving on many airport-wide scheduling committees.
  • I am well versed in performance management as my supervisory duties include the evaluating/rating of employees in all required Core Competencies and Performance Goals.
  • In serving over 21 years with the Transportation Security Administration as a supervisor, I have acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience in Coaching and Mentoring officers in both checkpoint and baggage screening Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) ensuring compliance to support the Mission of TSA.
