Cover Letter

Dear Hiring Committee, I am writing to express my interest in an Early Childhood teaching position. I will complete my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education at Eastern New Mexico University in May 2026 and will hold a New Mexico Level I License (Pre-K-3). I am eager to bring my experience, dedication, and passion for early learning to your school community. Throughout my residency in a full-year kindergarten classroom at Military Heights Elementary, I have led whole-group and small-group instruction in literacy and mathematics using CKLA, Heggerty, and UFLI interventions. I consistently use assessment data to guide instructional decisions and regroup students to ensure targeted support. My classroom management approach is structured, calm, and consistent, while prioritizing relationship-building and social-emotional development. In addition to my residency experience, I served for five years as an elementary librarian working with students in Pre-K through 5th grade, including students in an Intensive Learning Classroom. I have collaborated with special education teams, attended IEP and BIP meetings, and supported diverse learners, including students on the autism spectrum and English language learners. My commitment to inclusive education is both professional and personal, and I believe strongly in advocating for every child's success. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to your school community and continue growing as an educator. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the possibility of speaking with you further. Sincerely, Darci N. Roe
