  • After the metal is broken making sure that all the dimensions and angles are correct in tolerance
  • If any of these things are not accrete making the right adjustments which could include adding or taking away a few hundredths of a thousandths from the dimension or adding or take away a few degrees off the angle itself
  • The last step is scanning the barcode so the company knows who bent the mental and put the finished product in its proper place
  • Keep work area clean
  • Before shift is over making sure all dies are back in its right place and also making sure the machine is in the right safe position for the next shift.

  • Repairman, worked as a team Apache to fix all major components in a number of days
  • This included changing out rotor systems, engines, tires, windows, seats, and all small and major components on the AH64 Apache helicopter, stripped each apache to its frame and rebuild the whole apache in stages called, " Fazes" (requiring specific duties to be completed in a certain number of days for each section of the break down and build up of the AH 64 Apache longbow, when major problems occur during the apache takes off to the time it lands as far as over torque engine to blow gaskets that will keep the apache from flying the repairmen step in and either swap out parts or trouble shoot to find out the ways to fix it in a ample amount of time.

Apache Crew Chief

  • Apache crew chief I was assigned a specific AH64 longbow apache helicopter. Responsible to know everything about this specific apache, from the dates of the last inspections to the inspections due date
  • Responsible for a computer called a logbook. In this computer it had the inspections due dates, the problems that the pilots were having with the apache from flight to flight, the number of hours each component in the apache had, the due dates on which each component needed changing, and the hours that the apache has flown. As a crew chief I preformed all inspections daily, first flight inspections, monthly inspections and yearly inspection.
  • The daily inspections consisted of checking the outward appearance of the apache from corrosion to broken panels.
  • The first flight inspections included going over the whole apache with the pilots. This was a more in-depth inspection. On this inspection specific for blade damage, missing hardware, oil, diesel fuel levels. If everything met the standard the next step moved on to the pre flight. The preflight consisted of how many hours the specific apache was going to be out what systems the pilots were going to be testing while in the air and on ground.
  • When the flight is over and the specific apache came back with problems it was my responsibility to go over everything with the pilots as far as what systems they were running, what happen, what components did this problem effect, moving forward trouble shooting to find out the problem if there was a problem that could be solved in a few hrs to a day it was my responsibility to fixed it, however if the problem required more time it was my responsibility to put it in the log book call the different organizations that dealt with more specific problem resulting in an assessment and scheduling time log when this problem would be fixed. When the pilots come in with no problems I inspect the apache from top to bottom, call for refuel.
