Manion Truss and Components is a manufacturer of roof and floor truss systems for residential and light commercial buildings. Our company sold our products at the wholesale level. We only sold to retail lumber yards and home centers. As a sales representative for them, I traveled and met with their salesmen and contractors to review their proposed building projects. I would designed and price the building's roof and floor systems, with the MiTec engineering program. MiTec, is a three dimensional cad program specific to truss design. I would also visited the jobs-sites to help design and offer options for their specific projects. By being available to meet our customers personally, I developed a extremely loyal customer base.
Kal's Building Supplies was a retail lumberyard. I was in a partnership with two other people. I was the principle manager of the company, with my other two partners being less involved in the day to day operations. My responsibilities included; sales, estimating, home design and blueprint drawing. I also managed our building materials diverse inventory along with many of the special ordered products. We were a Marvin Window retailer, so I was responsible for pricing, sales and ordering of the Marvin Window product line. I kept our business ahead of the competition in our area. My innovative deliver options along with the newest material handling equipment, insured customer loyalty and business growth I also was very creative and bold in our advertising and special sales events, I also did my own radio adds in-which I became somewhat of an area celebrity. Managing our employees along with keeping our customers deliveries prompt and efficient was a priority for continued success.
