My name is Officer David Gutierrez, I am 46 years old and have been serving the City Of Hollywood Park for over 18 years now. I started back in the year of 2005 as a patrolman working dogwatch. My job was patrolling the district and doing crime prevention of the overnight businesses.
As the years went by I start working daylight hours and build a strong relationship with my community and residents. I quickly understood my role as an officer of the law by protecting and serving. Once I found my niche, I learned this job was for me. I learned that dealing with individuals who were diagnosed with mental health disorders was my go to. I became a Mental Health Officer back in 2017 and learned the ways of how to de-escalate disturbances with individuals who were diagnose with mental health.
Now, I have 18 years of service and look back at all the people's lives I have changed just because I listen and heard their voice. Heres to another 18 years of my life as a Law Enforcement Officer with new opportunities.
