  • Oversaw the operational and strategic planning, marketing, coordination and execution of activities for the Sergeant Major of the Army by providing direct leadership to six supervisors and guidance to all Army staff elements within The Pentagon, improving the SMA’s overall daily operations.
  • Exercised considerable judgment in resolving administrative technical problems. Reviewed, staffed, analyzed and coordinated with Army staff the submission of recommendations concerning personnel procedures and implementation of policies requiring the Secretary of the Army, Army Chief of Staff and Sergeant Major of the Army approval. Composed and prepared information and decision papers, memorandums, policy letters and messages as required. Staffed correspondence up and down the chain of command. Received and transmitted information via electronic mail daily.
  • Processed and reviewed a wide variety of military personnel actions, many of which are unique and do not easily lend themselves to direct application of regulations and procedures. Independently researched and referenced applicable guidelines and precedent actions to resolve the various problems and situations that arose in the performance of assigned duties.   • Managed the personnel rotation for the Soldiers across 50 occupational specialties; coordinated with joint and inter-agency organizations to conduct contingency and ceremonial operations, including those at The Pentagon, The White House and Arlington National Cemetery.
  • Oversaw the execution of the world-class Army Ten-Miler race which annually draws over 30,000 competitors, including some of the most elite athletes in the world.

  • Developed, conducted and oversaw training for installation’s training NCOs and officers and installation leadership. Determined individual and program-wide training needs in collaboration with the Army training management.
  • Oversaw and deployed the advance party of 40 Soldiers from Germany to Kuwait in order to integrate and facilitate the reception and integration of the follow-on combat forces ensuring they were fully trained and ready to move into Iraq.
  • Conducted training for Soldiers to address needs in implementing Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) while deployed overseas.
  • Supervised the Force Protection of the headquarters and four separate units in various locations in Northwest Baghdad ensuring the safety of the Soldiers.
