- Patrol high foot-traffic areas: i.e. Michigan Avenue and State Street. Daily patrol areas also include lakefront, museum campus, and downtown parks.
- Successfully provide crowd management techniques, proper use of force in dense crowds and in hostile situations. Some of the events include but are not limited to: 1) Nato, 2) Blackhawk Stanley Cup public celebrations/parades, 3) Lollapalooza, and 4) Presidential Details.
-Participate on horseback, in funerals honoring fallen officers that have died in the line of duty.
-Maintain riding proficiency while demonstrating continual physical stamina to ride year-round in all types of adverse weather for extended periods of time.
-Put forth a consistent positive image of the Chicago Police Department and the city of Chicago by maintaining the highest level of professionalism while being very approachable to the public.
-Comfortable traversing city areas on horseback and able to survey large areas quickly and address problem situations effectively.
-Work well with fellow officers in a team setting, being highly visible, and vigilant to deter crime.
-Educate schools and other community-based programs by explaining the duties of the Mounted Patrol Officer.
- Member of 18th District Gang Enforcement Team: a mission -oriented team that would target hot spots and community concerns in the district. Duties were performed in a civilian and covert capacity.
- Participated in the search warrant process serving as entry and search member. Demonstrated the ability to act in any role during the preparation, execution, and post execution of the search warrant.
- 3rd Watch rapid response officer. Responded to all priority calls district wide during assigned duty hours.
