Work History

Welder/ Reworker/ Lead Inspector

F&P Georgia
06.2024 - Current

Required to take a welding certification class through F&P Georgia, through the class learned to differentiate the difference between a bead that is within quality standards and one that was not. Some examples of non passible weld would be beads that were cracked, had any porosity, welds that were unfinished. Burned through or had undercut. etc

I was taught to adjust my settings on my wire speed and my amp to make sure im at the right speed and temperature when I go to weld

Once the class was completed you were moved to the line and certified as a Lead inspector. Requirements were we had to be able to weld or repair or scrap frames that were ran through the main lines. depending on the lone you were assigned to you either had to inspect them and tap the nuts that were welded onto the frames or sometime you had to inspect them at the end of the line.

once the frames were to perfection or to quality I was required to hang the 65-75 pound frame on a conveyor with hooks designed to carry them to the paint department to go through the next process

  • As a machine operator it was my job to inspect the material we were running as soon as I came in
  • I was to make sure the previous shift left our work area clean and organized to prevent any injuries
  • Before we continued running we had to dolph off the roll to a minimum requirement to be able to ship the roll of the next process
  • Then stop the machine and clean any fiber buildup that could cause us to go down for unnecessary downtime
  • While my assistant did the cleaning I went to inspect our cut out sample in order to make sure the quality of the roll we dolphed off was passable
  • If not we label the roll bad and I had to make the changes required to make the roll passable
  • It was my job as the operator to make sure the machine was ran and the quality of our product stayed within inspection range
  • I was required to know how to go about a change over to a different material or a different color
  • I also had to know how to control the weight of our carpet while also making sure the color on our product stayed the same throughout the night
  • We were required to wear PPE and make sure that all safety precautions were taken
  • I had the most weight to ever be made in a single night on that machine
